The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project, invites applications for fully funded PhD scholarships to study at top-ranked US universities. This initiative aims to strengthen the research and academic capabilities of Pakistani students by providing them access to world-class education in the United States. This opportunity is open only for PhD programs and is not applicable for MS leading to PhD. Preference will be given to those with confirmed admission in preferred subject areas at designated US institutions.
The last date of application for Fall 2025 is July 20, 2025.
The last date of application for Spring 2026 is November 15, 2025.

General Eligibility Criteria

Must be a Pakistani/AJK national
Minimum of 16 years of education (BS/BSc/BE or equivalent)
No 2nd or 3rd division in academic career (some flexibility based on category)
Age limit at the closing date:
40 years for government employees/faculty members/R&D organization staff
35 years for all other applicants
Applicant must not be availing any other scholarship

Specific Eligibility Criteria
The Fully Funded Scholarships to Study in USA for Pakistani Students under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project has two categories. The specific criteria for each category is given below.
Category I – Top 50 Ranked US Universities (Overall/Subject Rankings)
Full tuition (as per university invoice)
Stipend and health insurance provided
Must secure admission in a US university ranked in the top 50
Valid GRE General (Minimum 300) or HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) score (Minimum 60%)
Category II – US Universities Ranked 51 to 300 (Overall/Subject Rankings)
Partial tuition support (up to USD 12,000/year)
Stipend and health insurance provided
Must secure admission in a US university ranked 51–300
Valid GRE General (Minimum 300) or HAT score (Minimum 60%)
Note: University rankings will be determined based on QS and Times Higher Education (THE) global rankings.
