Scholarship Benefits
Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) has the following benefits.
- Hong Kong PhD Fully Funded Scholarship provides a stipend of approximately HK$325,200 annually.
- HKPFS provides HK$13,600 annually for research-related travel allowances.
- The duration of the Scholarship is 3 years and if an awardee needs more than three years to complete PhD additional support will be provided by chosen universities.

How to apply for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) Fully Funded Scholarship 2025-26?
Applications are open for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) 2025-26. The application process for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) is a two-step process.
In the first step, submit an initial online application for the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong. During the initial applicants can select two universities for PhD study. Upon successful application submission, you will get an HKPFS Reference Number. Note: carefully select universities as you have to meet the admission criteria of selected universities.
After submission of the initial application, the applicant should also submit an application to the proposed universities quoting the HKPFS Reference Number before the admission deadline of the respective university.
Note: The application deadline for available universities is also December 01, 2024. Therefore, it is suggested to submit an initial application as soon as possible. You can check the application criteria of individual universities from the official website.
